I picked up three Fretboard BA stouts at the same time and honestly, and it's perhaps my battered old palate, but they were fairly interchangeable. All of them were okay and I'm reviewing them higher than I want just because this is clearly a 'It's not you, it's me' situation, but I wasn't a huge fan of any of them.
So, future Oktoberfest, don't take this rating as license to buy more some day when you've forgotten about all this. Find some other giant stout to enjoy and leave these to history.

A - Pitch black pour witrh dense, bubbly, creamy toffee colored lacing.
S - Light chocolate roast and peanut butter dominate the nose.
T - Chocolate char malt base is a little on the astringent side with peanut butter over the top. Finishes with some residual astringent char, peanut butter and Bourbon.
M - Big medium body that's silky smooth and has slight warming in the back of the throat.
O - A respectable beer but prefer some of their other ones more.

From the growler via The Growler Stop in Newtown. This nice imperial
pours a deep muddy blackish brown with thin cola highlights and a
decent head of tan foam that settles to a thick ring, thin clumping pool,
and shows nice lacing. Nose of cocoa, peanut butter, char, and very subtle
brown sugar and bourbon. Flavors hit the perfect note of char touched
cocoa and dark malts with coffee and nutty peanut butter dashed with
brown sugar. Nice mouth feel; full body, smooth, rich, light carbonation
that is just enough to give lift, and a rich nut heavy finish.
Excellent, but I am allergic to nuts and just a little is more than
enough to make me go lumpy and bumpy----literally. The little
lady is always looking for some great brews and this one is----
just one problem, I am allergic and now she gets the full growler.
Good for her and bad for me. Sigh. Still, if you like stouts and
peanut butter give this one a shot.
Cheers
