New wow BREW here....From the Fretboard folks via Jungle Jim's
Eastgate in a snifter. This bourbon barrel aged strong ale with cherries
pours a luminous deep red tinged amber with a nice head of white
foam that settles to a thick ring, thin light layer, and shows some
nice lacing. Nose of rich bourbon and sweet cherry notes with
boozy notes mingling with light brown sugars. Flavors surpass the
nose by presentation with ultra smooth (Heaven Hill for the bourbon
lovers out there) bourbon notes with mild oak and vanilla topped
with cherry and light brown sugars with a hint of orange zest.
Pert near a Manhattan, but better. Nice mouth feel; medium
body, wet, smooth, warming, light carbonation that is just
zippy enough to give some nice lift, and a warming lightly
dry finish.
Overall, a fantastic brew with excellent attention to detail.
A new WOW brew from a very up and coming brewery
in Cincinnati!
Cheers
