As I drink this I wonder: when will this vast empire I gaze upon fall in on itself like a dying star but yeah the beer is decent a lil more character than a lot of average Oktoberfest beerz I try from this germanic metropolis but needs a little sumn here in the front and a lil sumn there at the end. Its aight

12oz CANNED ON 07/27/2023 poured into a mug at fridge temp 5.5% ABV. The beer pours bright medium amber with fizzy light khaki colored head. The head recedes quickly to a few bubbles around the glass. No retention, no lacing. The aroma is mild with sweet caramel. The taste is semisweet caramel with a side of extra buttered theater popcorn... Mild bitterness. Mouthfeel is thin bodied with average carbonation and a semi dry finish. Overall, not too good.

From the 12 oz can in a pint glass. This solid fest pours a chill
hazed luminous amber with a decent head of white foam that settles
to a thick ring, thin clumping layer, and sports some light lacing. Nose
of caramel malts, toasted malts, and herbal hops. Flavors surpass the nose
with a nice presentation of caramel, toasted malts, light breaded malts,
and light peach notes dashed with spicy and herbal hops. Mouth feel is
medium, medium light carbonation, and a herbal moderately dry finish.
Overall, a solid brew for the style
Cheers

Typical look for style. No sustained head, left no lacing in a pint glass. Pretty malt forward taste with usual nice follow up of nip of bitter with a dry finish. Well balanced and an enjoyable brew.

12 oz can, poured into a willi becher at ~40 degrees F.
L: Poured a clear molten-caramel amber, and formed a couple fingers of off-white head that vanished swiftly.
S: Toast, and sock. Not a used sock, nor a dirty one, just a sock. Notes not unlike the glaze from a donut as well.
T: Toast, and sock. Still unused, just....socky. Sockish? Sockesque? Akin to a fabric footsheath? Whichever conformation of that descriptor suits your fancy. Some faint earthen and floral tones. Mainly toasted sock.
F: Thin for a marzen. Watery breakdown by the finish.
O: Likely my last time picking this one up.

Fretboard isn't afraid to rock the Over-th-Rhine Cincinnati district for the fall festival season, brewing an Oktoberfest-styled lager that's meant for quick quaffing and without sacrificing flavor. They might as well call it Rocktoberfest.
But Rockin the Rhine pours a classy golden amber color with nearly bright clarity and topped with a sturdy ivory froth. As a gentle scent of toasted grains roll from the rim, the nose picks up on floral hop aromas, honey, nuttiness and bread crust. Many of those same malty contributions make it to taste with the sweeter grain flavors of light honey, granola and mild toast.
As the lager rolls across the middle palate, the floral aromas turn spicy and the sweetness extends onto the tongue. Becoming more toasty and nutty as the session endures, the sweetness loses its grip and the beer begins to dry. As the finish looms, the taste is a dry toast savory flavor with a mild hop spice of pepper and mint to close the session.
Medium bodied yet seeming fuller, the lager is plump with malt flavors that seem quite persistent. Finishing both malty sweet and fairly refreshing, the festbier extends briefly with nutty cola remnants and a mild hop spice.

12 ounce can, canned on 07/28/20. Served in a pint glass, the beer pours a mostly clear amber color with about an inch off-white head that stuck around a little while. There's also a decent amount of lacing. Aroma is nice, the brew smells mostly like bready and caramel malt, along with some spicy hops. For the most part I think the taste is similar to the aroma, but with the addition of some grassiness and bit of dried fruit. But this brew is all about the malt! Mouthfeel/body is light/medium, it's smooth and easy to drink with a moderate amount of carbonation. I thought this was a good enjoyable Oktoberfest brew, certainly worth picking up!
