Reviewed from notes. Purchased a six pack at the brewery on 12/26/19. Poured from the 12 oz. can into an El Catador teku glass on 1/4/20.
A: Pours a nice bronze color, only mildly hazy. Forms a thin off-white head that fades relatively quickly atop good streams of carbonation bubbles.
S: Toasted malts and spicy rye. Some caraway even on the nose, and some lager yeast sweetness. Appealing aroma, albeit not a huge nose.
T: Toasted malts, lager yeast, and then the spicy caraway. Sweet bready malts and a mild grassy hop bitterness. The spicy caraway lingers the longest.
M: A medium bodied beer, with low alcohol and a good amount of carbonation sensation.
O: A tasty rye beer. Malty, nice caraway flavors, and seems well-made. It wouldn’t be enough of a personal favorite to have in constant rotation in the fridge even if I lived around the brewery, but it’s a solid beer. Scores are given to style; personal preference may be a bit lower.
