12oz can with no visible dating. Purchased at the brewery 8-17-20. Opened 9-13-20.
3 finger tan head with very good retention.
Dense foam with a fine bead slowly recedes to a solid cap for the duration.
Black stout with ruby edges. Full lacing.
Mild roast coffee with cream. Toast. Subtle fig/date fruitiness. Earthy/clay.
Coffee and roasted malt bitterness followed by dark bread and light brown sugar.
Some woodsy/green in the finish.
Full body with a smooth/velvety mouthfeel.
Low-medium carbonation. Lengthy and roasty finish...off-dry.
Very Good.

L-Pours a jet black with a decent frothy and tan head. The head stays for quite some time. Looks good.
S-Sweet malt, toasty and roasted coffee, toffee, apricot, chocolate, vanilla, and an almost natural grainyness. The boozeyness really is minimal to nonexistent. The aroma blossoms as the beer warms.
T-The taste follows the nose. Flavors of roasted coffee, toffee, dark fruits, chocolate and vanilla. Sweet with a bitter bite at the end.
F-Milky smooth with a slight bubbly bite.
O-Man... This was a very good imperial stout. It's a decently heavy alcohol wise, but it's hidden very well. A great sipper. And it's full of flavor. Will seek out again and would love to compare it to the original.
