Rich malt character with bitter chocolate and light roasty notes. Infused with Maine-roasted Sidamo coffee beans from Wicked Joe's.

Pours a very deep brown color, almost black, with a tight light brown head that left a small wall of lacing on the glass.
The aroma is of milk chocolate, toasted pumpernickel and caramel. Not picking up any coffee.
The taste is of pumpernickel and caramel. I pick up a hint of ground coffee.
Moderate body with prickly carbonation. Fairly balanced leaning on the sweet side. A bit sticky in the finish.
A nice porter but not picking up enough coffee from this one.

I was worried that the roasty/coffee notes would be overpowering but they're not. It's balanced very well with the chocolatey, sweet side of the taste. Interesting, slightly "spicy" twang at the end of the sip. Kinda smooth and soft, not very carbonated.

Silky mouthfeel, front forward taste, slightly sweet like warm bread. Looks heavy, drinks light. Liked it enough at the brewery to bring a case home.

Drank from a 16 ounce can.
Appearance: very dark brown almost black in color, no head, no lacing.
Smell: roasted malt.
Taste: roasted malt and very, very smooth.
Mouth Feel: no carbonation, medium-full feel, very smooth.
An extremely drinkable beer. I could drink this all night. Would love more carbonation and lacing. I would purchase again.
