Appearance - Pours murky and dark rust in color, with an off-white head that peaks at nearly two-fingers. The head dissipates fairly quickly, almost fizzes away like soda, leaving behind a mostly barren surface and a fair ring of suds around the edge of the glass.
Smell - Spice and yeast are prominent. Distinct caramel note. Slight floral character.
Taste - Follows the nose. The spice, banana and clove capture the tongue first, then a floral hop character. Sitting beneath is a sturdy caramel malt backbone. Aftertaste lingers with a spicy bite and caramel sweetness.
Mouthfeel - Medium-bodied with tingly carbonation. Slick, easy drinker with a slightly dry finish.
Overall - Pretty decent Belgian red. Wouldn't mind drinking it again, but nothing I'd seek out specifically.
