A: Poured from the can into a Piraat tulip/snifter-type glass. Body is hazy dark golden with a 1.5-finger foamy white head on top. Nice rings of lace left behind.
S: Modest hops - piney, earthy and with a touch of tropical fruit.
T: First impression: wow, it seems like a ton of hops were killed to make this beer. A little too bitter - think piney & green hops (grass, pine needles, tobacco leaves), with a touch of generic fruit and tropical fruit (melon, melon rind) underneath it all. Finishes with a chalky bitterness and some heat from the ABV.
M: Medium in heft, chalky at the finish.
O: OK. This is about as local as you can get (brewery is less than 10 miles from home I'd guess) when you live in suburban Albany County, and as much as I'd like to love it . . . I'm not impressed. It's OK, but a little "green."
