No can date
Pours a medium frothy bubbly white head with medium retention, a little lacing, crystal clear watery-light pale gold color
Nose loads of grainy-sweet German pilsner malt, light bread dough, but not crackery or biscuity, a very light corn, and mild straw, mild herbal hops, more corn and raw dough as it warms
Taste big grainy-sweet German pilsner malts out front again, a bit doughy again with light straw, again no cracker like characters (which is OK), a bit more of the pilsner DMS corn flavor, light bitterness with a little floral herbal hop flavor, turning a bit spicy on the finish, which dries a bit but a bit sticky, lower bitterness still, and a faint metallic note in there
Mouth is med bod, soft lager feel, medium carb, mild sticky finish (I think it needs to attenuate a bit more)
Overall it has some potential, but needs some modifications. First, definitely bump the hop flavor, aroma, and especially bitterness. Some brewing mineral comes through a bit as metallic, or could be something from the yeast, so that needs to be sorted a bit, or might be part of a sulfate-like hop accentuation that doesn't work because there isn't enough hops. The color is a bit weak, and head as well. The malt profile is spot on though, so that gives it some potential to be great. Also seems a touch sweet on the finish, and maybe was a bit rushed and could use a bit more lagering time and attenuation, might explain the metallic note too. I hope I get a chance to try this again in the future with improvements.
