We spent the night here as a Harvest Host guest. They were incredible, even gave us free electric hook up for the night. The beer is average, had live music and the food was excellent. Quite an unique place, even had dinosaurs in the back of the building where we parked the rig.

Boxcar Brew Works is part of a family-fun amusement area just off I-80 at DuBois, PA. The area consists of multiple train cars circling a miniature golf course, a pizza shop (Excellent!), an ice cream stand (apparently affiliated with Penn State), a “fine dining” car (which we’ll try next time), a railroad exhibit, and a dinosaur exhibit. They apparently add something each year to the general site.
But back to Boxcar. It’s located up the hill on the right side of the train cars and is in an old boxcar with a roof and deck added, overlooking the golf area. There are multiple tables within and on the deck. They serve an excellent pizza from the pizza shop, the next train car up the hill – they also have some limited selection of salads and some rotating appetizer-like foods but we stuck with the pizza – brewer’s grain crust. The brewery is in an adjacent boxcar – the smell of yeast and malt permeates the ample parking lot. They do sell some cans of their beers (At least 10 on tap during my visit) and they have twist-top crowlers available which they flush with gas prior to filling but make sure you check the cap tightness. They also have a small collection of cans from other local breweries.
If you’re ripping down I-80 in PA and get hungry/thirsty around exit 97, stop in and check it out.

This place has a really great atmosphere. Quaint and quiet, it's built in a series of old train cars overlooking green space and a mini golf course, part of a larger comolex of family-friendly train themed attractions.

The service is friendly. Food quality is pretty good with some unique and hip offerings lobster hotdogs and various sampler appetizers.

There seem to be around 10 beers on tap at any time plus some guest offerings, so everyone should find something to try.

All in all, a fun stop for anyone in the area.
