440ml can from O'Brien's Off-License, Athlone (€3):
Caramel amber with a translucent body & a thick looking, bubbly head that's a creamy white & has some nice lacing around the circumference, holding quite well too before eventually turning to a thin surface lacing. It's semi-sweet & sticky on the nose, some pine & fruity tropical notes coming through with oats then some orange zest rounding things off. It's fresh tasting & slightly resinous from the pine hops, it seems a little storm get than 5.5% too with some tropical fruits, pale malts & bread then citrus to close. The body is around medium with a nice balance & a lively, fine carbonation & a lingering pine bitterness at the end.

This is brewed by St Mels of Lonford. I think it's actually better than any of St Mels own brews. Its an honest ale, not pretentious, it looks a bit murky but is full of flavour, nicely balanced, refreshing but with plenty of bite.
