Like the original has plenty of fruit: mango, pineapple, lime, lemon, orange, etc. But the big difference is the dryness of the body and hops, given the finish a mouth coating dry foam. Also brings out the yeast a tad more, not as juicy, more full in body. It's solid but I like original better

22oz bottle, brewed on 04/11/18, 8.4% ABV. Hazed copper colored ale with a frothy tan head. Juicy aroma hinting at tropical fruit and citrus. Juicy and tropical flavored hops provide notes of pineapple, passion fruit, mango, and Mandarin orange; sweet caramel malt base. Full body, moderate carbonation, finishing somewhat bitter and semi-dry. More of a classic DIPA with modern hops in comparison to the original Hop Nawi New England IPA. I'm surprised this keeps the Hop Nawi name considering they are so different from each other. In my opinion this could easily be a totally different beer in the Energy City lineup. Even though this is good, if I had to choose one, I'd choose the original Hop Nawi every time.
