Poured from 16oz can into my BeerAdvocate teku. Best by 6/20/25, so I’m, uh, good I think :)

Appearance: totally black with a nice head of dark-tan foam. Pretty!

Smell: well, it’s certainly what it says on the tin. Imagine a chocolate birthday cake, the classic two rounds on top of each other, with strawberry filling in between the layers. That’s what you’re getting here.

Taste: the aroma continues into the taste. It’s like German chocolate cake, but with strawberries. To be completely honest I think the strawberries could be taken down a half-notch. But, if chocolatey sweet stouts are your jam (which they must be if you bought this beer in the first place), then this could work for you.

Mouthfeel: meidum-rich body with a very smooth carbonation and creaminess. Quite nice.

Overall: honestly at first I was gonna be kinda harsh on this beer. But it delivers what it advertises, and it’s actually kind of growing on me. If it sounds like something you’d like, then give it a try!

A very good dessert stout. The appearance is a standard stout, nothing very special. Smell is adjunct forward, with, surprisingly, strawberry leading the way. Taste is extremely well balanced, as chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry blend well together. Light to medium bodied with just a hint of sticky oiliness, and the higher abv is extremely well disguised. These guys make excellent beers, and this one is not an exception.

Pours pitch black. 3 finger tan head. The head retention is decent, and there's a bit of lacing on the glass.
The nose is not very strong. I just get a faint hint of strawberry on it. Not much in the aroma department.
Taste - Now the taste is quite good, and complex. Up front I get the vanilla and cocoa. The strawberry comes in on the backside, and lingers on the backside for a long time after my sip. The lactose is present, but more of a second fiddle to the other flavors.
The lactose adds a creamy feel to this beer. This beer is also fairly thick. There's no alcohol burn at all. This beer is smooth going down.
Damn tasty, and a pleasure to drink.

L: Fairly standard looking pour from a milk stout. Light tan, 3 fingers of head with nice lacing. Body was fully opaque, dark.
S: Strong scent of strawberries hit you right from pour. Subtle vanilla smell as well. Very appetizing.
T: This is a phenomenal dessert beer. Tastes like you are drinking a chocolate covered strawberry with a small hint of vanilla. Not much more to say.
F: Very smooth with no alcohol mouth burn.

O: Very sad to see this is a retired beer. Picked up a can in November 2019, and drank in Jan 2020. Hope they make a similar batch someday as I will be craving it for a long time to come.

Aroma is roasted malts/chocolate , mild fruit/strawberries and a hint of sweetness. The flavor is strawberries, dark/roasted malts, marshmallows, chocolate and a mild/medium sweet/acidic finish.

Appearance - Pours black with a dense mocha colored head that settles to a rocky cola like cap. Few dots of lacing.

Aroma - Lots of dark chocolate, vanilla and cocoa. Mild fruit aroma no way to make out if it is strawberry, roasted malts mostly sweet nose.

Taste - Taste is spot on Neapolitan ice creme lots of cocoa, vanilla and the strawberry comes out well. Really sweet, end has a bit of bitter roasted malts. In the end they hit what they wanted, great flavors and they are not artificial.

Feel - Medium bodied slightly slick maybe a touch high on the carbonation slightly dry finish.

Overall - Well done pasty stout, spot on for flavors.
