The tradition of beer-making by monasteries and monks has been around for thousands of years. In accordance with the monks’ motto that “everything we do is an offering to God,” the monks are bringing the 1,500-year-old monastic tradition of brewing artisanal beer to share with our community.

22oz bottle, 11% ABV
brewed on August 14, 2020
L: a thin tan head caps a dark brown ale
S: rich aroma; dark candi, caramel, bread crust, spicy yeast, dark fruit, raisin, booze
T: sweet and complex: dark caramelized grain, dark candi sugar, cherry, plum, raisin, fig, bread, spicy Belgian yeast, fruity alcohol esters, earthy hops
F: fuller body, ample carbonation, sweet through and through, alcohol is warming while being slightly hot at times, which is to be expected
O: I found this to be enjoyable, but not up to par in comparison to the authentic Trappist brewed quads that are world-class
