Bistro Grande Mango Cotton Candy

As with other Energy City Brewing beer, this particular Berliner-style Weisse pours a super thick fruit smoothie thick brew, of a deeply orange-yellow color that defies description, and that immediately smells of mangoes. The aroma seems to be as if they sucked the essence out of a million mangos and put them into the concoction. The flavor only adds to this perception, as mango flavor kicks it up a notch and hits the top bell for mango flavor profiles. The brew gurgles around the tongue, with smooth mango bursting everywhere. There is little hint of the 8% alcohol. If you are a mango fan, or even a fan of a smoothie style beer, this needs to be on your list.

 

 

Appearance - it doesn’t appear that I poured beer from the can, but mango juice.

Smell - it did not really smell like beer, it’s real like mangoes. The cotton candy sweetness really was not there.

Taste - Obviously, this is not a Berliner in the true sense. It really did not possess any characteristics of actual beer. There was a touch of carbonation, but this was basically just mango juice.

Mouthfeel - The body was like some thing that came out of a juicer. It was rather thick.

Overall - There was very little about this that resembled beer. This was more like something from Jamba Juice.
