Having this beer on-tap at the brewery. Served in a stein mug, this beer draws a very dark brown color with some deep ruby highlights around the edges with the light reflects off of it. Has a just slightly off-white, creamy looking head that’s about 1/4 of an inch thick win the first drawn and served. Head settles to a thick foam ring the lining of the inside of the glass at the beer’s surface w/ a bit of lacing. Aromas of roasted, bready malts w/ some caramel sweetness and some toffee notes. A very similar flavor profile, with the aforementioned roasted, bready, caramel malt sweetness followed by some toffee notes. Just a slight hint of some earthy hops to round out the flavor profile. Has a crisp, also smooth, slightly frothy, medium bodied mouthfeel with moderate carbonation. Has a clean finish, and all of the flavors linger nicely in my palate in the aftertaste.
