Distinct "soapy" taste when compared to other IPAs.

12 ounce can - $3.49 at Total Wine & More in Kennesaw, Georgia.

Appearance: Pour a lightly hazy, orange-copper body with an inch of creamyish, off-white foam.

Smell: Citrus (grapefruit-orange), garden variety stonefruit, spicy resins and some pine. A little bready maltiness housing a bit of sweetness. Slight crackling waft of alcohol.

Taste: Treacle-glazed bready barley with a bit of grain backing to it. Zestful, lightly citric fruitiness with a touch of sourish, tropical rind and stonefruit (apricot) material. A bite of pine ahead of the moderate bitterness which is retained through the finish. Closes out smooth with just a final morsel more of the upfront honeyed, treacle sweetness.

Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation.

Overall: Sufficient.

The only thing wrong with this beer is it being characterized as a west coast ipa. Pours a deep orange/Apricot, super hazy, murky, juice bomb. Heavy bitter finish, hops sting the pallet and then sit there. Wow. Great first beer from FTE, nice job!
