After visiting the Dodegang (Trench of Death) in Diksmuide, Belgium, I stopped into Brouwershuys for lunch and libations. During this 29SEP24 visit I had three 0.33l bottles of this (at €4.60 ea) with my tasty toasted ham & cheese sammich and frittes.....
It was a clear, medium golden color, with minimal carbo. Had a fluffy, soft, off-white head and good lacework. Aroma was of bready, crackery malts, green fruit and a hint of honey. It was pretty smooth on the tongue and going down, with a medium body.
Taste had nice, bready malts with a bit of toasted action. Pear and green apple appear once more, with another smidge of honey plus some melon. The finish presented a hint of peppery spice. A solid brew! Prost!!
