Taster at brewery. Pale golden pour, ring of head. Barely there aroma of malts. Taste brings a light bitter edge without a lot of grain/malt flavor. near miss

maybe a touch flat, looks that way anyway, and really doesnt sing in terms of carbonation like i want the style to, but its better than its other rating here, and has some distinguishing features that work in its favor. the hops seem unique, not noble to me at all, not grassy, bitter, or spicy, but still concentrated in the finish only, to me its more herbaceous, floral even, clover flowers, elderflower, tulip in bloom, also some light sweetness running through it, some of it grain derived, but its also a little bit from the hops, sticky and resinous but softly so, not necessarily even americanized, just different, well selected and dosed, an orange blossom note through it, almost seems like honey could be used. i get less of the european character than i like in the style, almost seems more like a blonde ale as the yeast is pretty minimal here, and the malt doesnt hit like pils malt typically does. this should be better than it is, but its not bad. a little cleaning up, carbonating up, and attention to detail would go a long way. mixed feeling about these guys still in limited experience with their stuff...
