I tried a can of this beer from a mixed 12pck whilst visiting a former teammate and good friend in Park City, Utah. It looked, smelled, and tasted like a typical hefeweizen beer. The mouthfeel was lighter in body and had good carbonation. Overall it is a great beer.

Flat Out Hefeweizen is my first beer from Salt Flats Brewing. I am using a Hefeweizen glass, and the serving temperature is 42 degrees. The pour is creamy and foamy, with a one-fingered white head that has above-average retention. The somewhat slow dissipation left no lacing on the glass. The beer's color is straw yellow with light golden hues; its clarity is clear, and it registers an SRM of 3. The appearance of the beer is above average. I rarely see American Lagers with a long-lasting head.
Nosing the beer, I smell toasted bread, crackers, banana, cloves, light floral esters, a grainy sweetness, and grassy notes.
The flavors have notes of lightly toasted malts, crackers, a light floral bouquet, grassy bubblegum, cloves, banana, grainy sweetness, and a subtle herbal note.
The mouthfeel is crisp, finishing light and refreshing. The body is light with medium-plus carbonation.
Final Thought: A straightforward Hefe with lots of defining characteristics that are akin to this style. It is a refreshing beer after a long day at work.

Pours a slightly hazy pale gold with an average white head. Aroma of cloves and banana. Taste also of cloves and banana. Mild hop bitterness.
Very much a typical Hefeweizen.

Poured a light hazy straw-gold under a quickly receding head of white foam. Scent has the typical vibes of a hefe with the banana notes being nicely present without overwhelming. Taste follows where banana takes center stage followed by the other components of a hefe. Feel was on the lighter side of medium with moderate carbonation. A pretty even keeled hefe that should be approachable to a wide audience.

Appearance: Pours from the can a light gold body with a little wisp of haziness brought about by that final swirl and pour. Minimal head formation.
Smell: Faint mellow background base maltiness, scant sensations of loaf bread, wheat cracker. Modest, benign yeast-derived notes with little touches of vanilla, less-than-ripe banana and out-of-date spice.
Taste: Soft bready flavor with a restrained level of sweetness. It has that neutral two-row quality with a subtle crisp wheat flavor. Very, very mild hints come in, of vanilla, banana, earthy spicy and lemon, but they evaporate pretty quickly.
Mouthfeel: Medium-light body. Medium carbonation.
Overall: Pretty mild, inoffensive, plain-Jane. Which, frankly, I'll certainly take over something skewing way, WAY too heavy either towards the wiezen phenols or esters.
