16 oz can from the brewery
pours almost black, but still with ruby colored highlights in the corners of the glass. cream colored head, with excellent head retention and lacing. pleasant mild aroma - mainly dark cocoa. Taste follows the smell - a very nice moderate roasty flavor, starts a touch sweet but quickly finishes drier. Medium to full bodied, very smooth mouthfeel.

This was a Czech Dark Lager that was black in color. Poured with a tall, dense, mocha colored foam with good retention. Earthy dark, lightly sweet malt aromas with light roasted malt and chocolate notes. On the heavier side of medium bodied with medium light carbonation and a thick creamy feel. Flavors are similar to aromas. Earthy, dark malt and light hints of chocolate and light bitterness. Finished semi-dryly with light roasted malt and dark malt notes. This certainly was a malty showcase with subtle sweetness beautifully balanced by light hop bitterness.
