Shcoops is our Schmoojee ice cream line, this round has an over the top ice cream experience, with a creamy lushness that we haven’t experienced in a fruited beer. In addition to ice cream, we used fresh strawberries and Ghirardelli chocolate sauce for a true dairy delight. Contains lactose.

This updated version has an increased ABV of 6.5%, but it's certainly the same brand. First, it was quite the unpleasant experience as a nearly volcanic eruption occurred cracking open the pint can. Likely, two ounces were lost to the foaming over, which landed on pants, a chair and the kitchen floor, before lastly, the kitchen sink. The remaining approximate fourteen ounces made it inside a clear glass liter mug. The excessive foam is pinkish and it finally rests on top of a strawberry-amber thick liquid. It smells much like strawberry ice cteam. There's strawberry, some chocolate and sweet cream to taste, so you get what's advertised. What you also get is something that's really not a beer. It's a lactose laden fruit smoothie with some alcohol. The mouthfeel is sticky and too thick to be pleasant. Imprint pushes the limits with their Schmoojee styles and some are as enjoyable as they are unique. This may be unique, but it's a long way from enjoyable.

A: Pours an opaque thick milky medium pink in color (much like strawberry milk or melted strawberry ice cream) with light to moderate amounts of fine active visible carbonation rising along the edges of the glass and faint darker pink + pale pink colored highlights. The beer has a half finger sudsy pale pink head that quickly reduces to a very thin ring at the edges of the glass. Light amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Slightly stronger than moderate aromas of slightly tart sweetened strawberry along with light aromas of chocolate and moderate aromas of melted ice cream with lactose sweetness. Hints of lacto tartness.
T: Upfront there is a melted ice cream flavor with moderate amounts of lactose sweetness. That is followed by a hint of lacto tartness and light flavors of milk chocolate. Finally there is a slightly stronger than moderate flavor of slightly tart sweetened strawberries. No perceptible bitterness or hop presence. Light lingering ice cream + tart sweet strawberries linger for quite a while.
M: Medium bodied with light to moderate amounts of carbonation. Creamy smooth with a light amount of acidic prickliness in the finish.
O: Easy to drink with well hidden alcohol and this is a very interesting “beer” with a thick melted ice cream like mouthfeel. Enjoyable and it definitely delivers on the flavors and aromas it promises but not sure I could even finish an entire can of this one never mind looking to find it again.
