Imprint Beer Co. "Inaudible Barleywine"
$5/10 oz. glass at the brewery on 11 March 2023

Notes: Listed at 10.2% ABV
Look: A very hazy brown body is capped by a short, yellowed off-white foam. OK head retention but very good lacing.
Smell: Malty, fruity, and cocoa-like.
Taste: Grainy malt with milk chocolate and a mild fruitiness that includes notes of apple, raisin, and sweet plum. The alcohol is unfortunately clear but a little bit of leeway should be given at 10.2%. It finishes dry with some alcoholic heat and spice.
Feel: Medium-full in body and smooth.
Overall: It's quite enjoyable but suffers from some minor problems.

Poured cool to a small snifter. Color is attractive clear dark copper / amber. No lasting head or lacing. It looks very still but it does stir to life. Aroma is plum and peach with some wet oak. Taste follows the aroma, along with a nice wet bourbon bite up front, quickly followed with a dry barrel-wood finish. There are some mellowed hops up front, but the body is clean, sweet malts. Mouthfeel is full and oily, excellent for the experience. Alcohol does not bite hard, and does bring a slow warming. Very smooth and easy to knock quickly from this glass. Perhaps a Glencairn would have helped the savoring.

Willett 12 months and Beam barrels 8 months FYI.

After some temp warming, this opens up more caramel, and drinks bigger than 12.2%.
