We filled bourbon barrels with our collab with @microbrewkings then finished the beer with chocolate hazelnut mousse and cream cheese. This BA version exudes silky confidence, the flavors melding together into a perfectly sublime liquid dessert.

Have tried quite a few of imprints barrel aged pastry stouts and I am a fan of what most people would consider “way too sweet” brews, but even for myself this one was just too much. Has that sugar burn in the back of the throat that you get from eating a candy that’s too sweet? If that makes any sense. The mouthfeel was on point as was the color and carbonation. The notes all just get lost though in the background of straight sugar in the front

what an absurd beer, a generous share by a former stranger, cool to make new friends over special beers! a huge pastry stout in bourbon barrels done with chocolate hazelnut mousse and cream cheese, holy heck! i have been anti cream cheese in my beer, and even the good ones arent that great when it comes to this trend, but i have to confess, this beer is pretty epic. the cream cheese to me is obvious in both aroma and flavor, but its impact on the body of this that makes it wonderful, its fatty and creamy, straight up heavy and almost greasy from it, like a lard aspect or something, over the top rich, and thats even before the sweetness and all the alcohol is factored in, just nuts, and i am thankful to be sharing this bottle, a few ounces still feels like a lot. black as night and viscous as motor oil, very little head, long legs, high shine, looks greasy and slick, super dense. the nose and taste though are wonderful, rich vanilla, authentic hazelnut, a lot of roast with notes of good espresso and dark chocolate, and the cream cheese, which moves from tangy to just decadent pretty quickly, but its neat with all the roast in here, and i think the overall refinement is actually really high for a dessert beer. the bourbon aspect is awesome, seems high end and the oak and char aspects are bold, i couldnt imagine this without the barrel, seems so unifying and important to the overall experience, but it looks like there is a non barrel aged version as well. impossibly thick but insanely smooth, the cream cheese is central throughout somehow, about as much of that as i have known in a beer, i feel this clogging veins. wonderful chocolate character, not sure i can appreciate it being made with a mousse, but the chocolate and hazelnut both are awesome in this, so good with the whiskey. enormous, near still, and on my palate for miles and miles, but also really super impressive, never had a beer quite like this, and its not one i will soon forget. easily the best of the imprint beers i had recently! wow.
