Our latest barrel aged stout saw 18 months in bourbon barrels. We then conditioned it on house roasted pecans, candied pecans & homemade pecan pies. Rich and decadent and supremely layered with our special three dimensional pecan treatment.

2024 vintage
This is my first Imperial Stout from Imprint, a brewery known mostly for their Kettle Sours. Ironically the best beer I’ve had from them was on the complete opposite end of the spectrum, a Dark Mild. This one is far removed from everything I’ve had from them but I have high hopes for it, RATM rip on the label aside. Let’s crack into this pecan
Pours a very dark brown with a finger of creamy tan head that quickly fades to a thin ring and leaves minimal lacing
Oh man this is very sweet on the nose, but it’s definitely pecan forward. I’m picking up on aromas of candied pecan, creme brûlée, brown sugar, dey oak, burnt toast, poached pear, vanilla bean, milk chocolate, light bourbon, and raisin
It’s not as sweet as I expected based on the aroma, but this is still quite the sweet beer. On the front end of the sip I’m tasting milk chocolate, toasted oak, candied pecan, brown sugar, burnt caramel, raisin, vanilla bean, sweet bourbon, molasses, and apple skin. The swallow brings notes of candied pecan, smooth oak, creme brûlée, vanilla frosting, sweet bourbon, graham cracker, milk chocolate, brown sugar, and toffee
A medium full body pairs with gentle carbonation, resulting in a rich beer. Finishes a tad sticky and boozy but dries out over time
This isn’t anything amazing, but it’s a fun dessert beer that makes decent use of an uncommon adjunct
