From tasting notes 6/18/21
Poured from a can, dated 11/20/20, at Liquid Therapy in Fair Oaks, CA
Appearance - Served up in a standard imperial pint glass, clear and brilliant copper red in color with a sandstone colored, two-finger width head. Great retention before dying to a thin, consistent layer of suds, chunking up around the edge of the glass. Great lacing, with thin but solid sheeting decorating much of the glass.
Smell - Biscuity aroma, with lesser grapefruit and pine riding beneath.
Taste - Starts with a blend of grapefruit and pine hoppiness, then caramel sweetness before some toasty biscuit malt sets the balance and ties it all together. Finish is a blend of grapefruit, caramel and light toastiness. Very nice.
Mouthfeel - Medium in body with fair carbonation. Smooth, easy drinker before a slightly dry finish.
Overall - 7 months old and the hops are still kicking strong. One of the nicest hoppy reds I've had in quite a while. The malt base is amazing. Hopefully they brew it again. I've been drinking it for 3 months now, but I'd love to try it fresh.
