Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a slightly hazy, medium golden amber with a fine, two finger white head with great retention and solid lacing. Aroma of pilsner malt, grassy and citrus hops, hay, lemon and a little mineral. Flavor is lager malt, citrus hops, tart lemon, faint grassiness and an odd vegetal note. Some faint funkiness in the background. Medium bodied with light to moderate creaminess. An odd take on a pils, and is certainly to tart to fit the profile. Not a sour, but clear lemon tartness throughout the taste. Tastes more like lemon juice than a hop herbal note. Refreshing and different, but not really a Czech (or German( pilsner in profile. The tartness put it at the edge of my tastes, but it may be of interest to tart beer fans as an oddity.
