Amber orange color with a thin head with short retention.
Nice malty aroma with notes of smoke, lemon drops, toasted malts and mild sourness.
Flavor with notes of smoked and slightly toasted malts, sour dough, lemon, green apples, blue cheese and lactic acid. Dry and acid aftertaste, though not strong.
Light body with appropriate carbonation.
Well done Lichtenhainer. It is well attenuated and gave the right smoke and sour notes, with a hint of blue cheese that I felt in my other attempts of this historical style. The Brazilian malts (brasii, which means malt in Latin) worked quite well.
