Had on tap at the brewery.
Served in a libby tulip. Nose is explosive and green - pineapple, lime, coconut. Definitely one of the More pure hop onslaughts I’ve had from these guys.
Flavor follows suit, heavy pineapple and bright grassy lime. Body is less creamy and more bitter than expected, but beer was packaged one day before I’m drinking it. Yeast is still largely at play, in a good way for me.
The beer finishes on the bitter side, but hasn’t some light honey malt quality to back it up.
This is the most interesting hop combo I’ve had this year. Hard to believe there’s no coconut in this beer. Excited to try more sabro beers!

On draft at brewery on release-day from Libby-style tulip.

Aroma is pretty fresh, light, and clean. Not very strong overall but you can tell it’s a hop forward IPA.

Pour is a hazy pale yellow with a creamy white head. Light but present lacing. Not much orange and lighter color than expected.

In contrast to the head, the feel is crisp and light rather than creamy. Still full though. A little thickness from the body and a light but fuzzy carbonation. Very smooth without being at all watery, and definitely both a flavorful and drinkable IPA.

Not a tropical hop bomb, despite the description as a “tropical ipa.” The paler body indicates this as well, so I wasn’t expecting a fruity blast. I’m not too familiar with the hops in this beer, so the flavor is fairly unique. Maybe some banana or lemon/pineapple, but nothing in the grapefruit or orange (traditional citrus) realm. Sweeter coconut right at the finish, then the lasting flavor is lightly peppery, faintly bitter—in an herbal style. I’m into it.
