16 ounce can into weizen glass, no can dating. Pours very hazy medium golden yellow color with a 1 finger dense and rocky off white head with great retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big peanut butter, banana, bubblegum, peppercorn, clove, peach, pear, melon, red apple, wheat, cracker, and white bread dough; with lighter notes of toast, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of PB, bananas, fruity/spicy yeast, pale/wheat malts, and light earthy hop notes; with big strength. Taste of big peanut butter, banana, bubblegum, peppercorn, clove, peach, pear, melon, red apple, wheat, cracker, and white bread dough; with lighter notes of toast, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Mild herbal, floral, grassy bitterness; yeast spiciness; and banana/wheat tang/tartness on the finish. Lingering notes of peanut butter, banana, bubblegum, peppercorn, clove, peach, pear, melon, red apple, wheat, cracker, white bread dough, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a while. Fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of PB, bananas, fruity/spicy yeast, pale/wheat malts, and light earthy hop flavors; with an awesome malt/bitter/spiciness balance, and no cloying/astringent flavors after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness with lingering bitter/spiciness and tart/tangy fruit. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; with a very smooth, creamy/silky/bready/grainy, fairly sticky, and lightly tangy fruit mouthfeel that is fantastic. Minimal warming alcohol for 7.4%. Overall this is a fantastic flavored hefeweizen. All around fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of PB, bananas, fruity/spicy yeast, pale/wheat malts, and light earthy hop flavors; very smooth and easy to drink for the ABV, with the mildly bitter/spicy/tangy/drying finish; fantastic soft feel. Amazing balance of PB, bananas, German yeast, and pale/wheat malts; with solid earthy hops. Light residual sweetness with lingering dryness. A highly enjoyable offering, spot on base style example. They nailed it for an experimental beer. Not overwhelming on any aspect.

This one is spot-on as advertised. It was just put on tap an hour before we showed up; my wife only ordered it after her inital order had been tapped and the waiter made up aware they just put on a peanut butter Hefeweizen. I laughed when I realized they were attempting a peanut butter-banana ale, and holy crap: it's a peanut butter - banana ale. Lots of powdered peanut in the aroma, but the flavor is pure bready, banana, and peanut butter goodness. It was only later I found out the name, and laughed greatly.
