"Highpoint."
5.3% ABV. This is their flagship beer, though no style is explicitly mentioned on the can (aside from "porch ale).
Blonde malt, generic floral hop flavour, 2-row. Scintillae of butterscotch and maybe vanillin.
Simple, shallow, boring.
Drinkable and forgettable. Not a beer I'd want to revisit, but it's passable fare.

possibly actually named highpoint, with porch ale as sort of a style designation, the can has a lot of names on it, cool packaging though, with the fully removable tops to drink from the can, and some fashionable mod graphics. my first from these guys, and i really liked it, one of my favorite six pack beers from our time in texas. neat to see a mild ale promoted in this way, yeah they have always been session chill out beers, but they seem to have fallen out of favor with the american craft consumer in this context, so its neat to take a stab at that, i applaud it. the beer isnt sweet, which i think really helps, sometimes we associate english beer unfairly with being bready and sugary because styles like this are malt driven, but you can have both, and this is a fine example of a malt forward brew that stays on the dry side. it also should appeal so american consumers because it has a somewhat modern tasting hop profile, at least to me, with some oily citrus on the swallow to balance the grain, never bitter, but certainly balanced, with the hops being a lot more flavorful than most of us have come to expect in the style. medium bodied, light biscuit and toffee notes, an almond nuttiness, and then the light fruity hops at the end. the yeast is mild here, and the beer finishes clean. i think they did a nice job with this, i pounded a fair few of them and i liked it every time. i would buy this again...
