Poured from a can into a snifter. Reddish golden brown with good initial head but little lacing. Caramel smell and taste. Woodsy with a nice sharp finish. Good!

Poured from a can into a pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours a clear deep amber color with a small head of just off-white foam. The head has a moderate level of retention, with it slowly fading over time to leave a light level of lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma is strongest of a caramel smell mixed with some aromas of a lightly toasted bready smell. With these aromas comes notes of notes of toffee and a bit of harvest fruit of pear and apple. Other light fruit aromas of cherry and plum are there as well, creating a very rich aroma overall.
Taste – The taste begins much less sweet then would be anticipated from the nose. It starts with a lightly toasted bready flavor mixed with a caramel malt sweetness as well as a bit of apple and pear. As the taste advances the sweetness increases a touch with more caramel and a bit of toffee. At the same time some light graininess and a bit of cereal and touch of herb come to the tongue leaving one with a crisp and clean taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is thin and crisp with a carbonation level that is average. Overall, for the style and the tastes the feel is good and makes for an easy sipper.
Overall – A rather crisp and clean amber/red ale. Not a flavor powerhouse but very easy drinking. A good summer style brew.
