A creamy dark tan head caps an onyx black body and sticks around after an aggressive pour. Gorgeous imperial stout. The first note I pick up on the nose is maybe the most decadent dark chocolate aroma I’ve ever experienced in a beer. Wow. There’s also molasses (expected), a little booze (expected), and stone fruit (not expected).
The dark chocolate is all over the palate after a strong draw - I’m surprised how rich the flavor is, especially on the very back of the palate as it settles. That combined with the molasses and stone fruit (and just a smidge of cola flavor) yields a highly drinkable imperial stout.
This is a nuanced beer with loads of flavor and feel. My first beer from these guys, I’ll be back for more. Soon.

Fantastic head production and retention, with dark brown foam capping a black body long after the pour.
Big boozy and smooth aroma. Tons of malt base, definitely leaning toward AIS (vice RIS). Chocolate, espresso, caramel, brown sugar, nuts, banana, vanilla, red grape.
Flavor follows. It's a big, sweet imperial stout, bordering on dessert stout despite no additives. Chocolate, caramel, and toast up front; very quickly accented by banana and peanuts; waves of nuts and char, with occasional notes of chocolate, coffee, caramel, and banana on the back third. Boozy chocolate peanut butter banana smoothie; that's it.
Maybe the closest thing to FIS I've had in ages. Thick and chewy; easy sipper, but clearly a big brew. Fantastic all around.
