I've been wanting to try a beer from Purgatory, a friend brought over a 4 pack of their DIPA named Dirty Swan. Pours an attractive glassful but has a really off aroma, kind of a chemical smell and the aroma of unfinished wort.
The aroma follows through to the taste of the beer, absolutely undrinkable. I'm glad it wasn't me who spent the $16 on a four pack because the entire 4 pack was poured down the drain.
I really wanted to like this brewery being that it's local but if this is representative of the product that they're putting out then I don't want it. Fact is, someone had to say this beer was okay to package and sell and that speaks volumes for me. Now I understand why over a year since its inception there's hardly any reviews of the beers. Sorry Purgatory but you have to do better than this.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
