The beer pours from the growler a clear reddish color with some brown hues - pretty looking beer. Fizzy, tall head initially that falls quickly to a lasting ring with some little islands. Bubbles rise from the bottom pretty continuously.
The smell promises acidity, blueberry, tea, floral notes. Very light scented beer, but enough to create anticipation.
The taste opens slightly sour, then the blueberry kicks in. It is almost blueberry pie-like but without the spices. It features a tea-like taste that reminds me of cooked rather than fresh blueberries, but it works well in this beer. very slight sweetness offsets the acidity.
The feel is light and lively, slightly drying on the tongue, yet refreshing. Very clean flavors and feel.
Overall this is a beer for that hot summer day sitting on the back porch. Very lemonade-like in terms of the overall experience. You could drink more than one easily. Tried at the brewery, brought home a growler, also picked up a six pack of cans - it will be interesting to compare. Since the growler was properly filled, no difference between the glass at the brewery and the growler after a day riding in the cooler.
