This beer was consumed on draft at the brewery. The pour was a clear, golden color, with about an inch of densely packed white head that lasted as a ring after it fell.
The aroma was fruity apple and kind of a sugary sweetness. Light malts play in the background. There is an initial heavy hit of diacetyl which fades - although acceptable for the style, bordered on being a bit much for my tastes. Slightly earth, floral hoppiness.
The taste is clean and enjoyable - my concerns over the diacetyl were apparently unfounded as it was minimally present in the taste and faded to the background. Malt-forward which provides the anchor for the ample hops which are earth and floral as the aroma suggests. Nice level of bitterness. A little spiciness that built towards the end.
Medium bodied, but you know you are drinking a classic beer. Nicely carbonated, very clean on the aftertaste.
Overall, this was a very good beer that had plenty of flavor and ticks the boxes for the style.
