Pours beautifully clear, deep bronze color with a generous dense white head. Ends as a thick ring and a foam cap. Clings well.
The smell is mild pine, orange and grapefruit citrus. Some nice bready malts provide the base. Some grapefruit peel/pith. This is classic.
The taste is smooth and balanced. Slight malt sweetness, pine resin, orange and grapefruit as the citrus. Very clean, flavors hit quickly with no carryover. Grapefruit peel does build a bit. Straightforward beer.
Feel is light, a little bit of juiciness. Balanced bitterness mid-taste, astringent finish.
Straightforward, well-made IPA. Nothing fancy here, but it is a very solid old school example of the style.

Poured from the can into a Spiegelau IPA glass.
A mirror like and crystal clear finish, a real nice pale bronze.. Deeper than orange, but lighter than amber hitting a hue that is really distinct and very good looking. Great fine foaming head, three fingers with splatching laces and an island bright added white dollop of cream island in the center.
Pine cone softness on the aroma, touching a little bit of mushy orange citrus and light juice as well. Pithy grapefruit hanging out in the back, very much like a good solid West coast IPA quality.
Palate is a bit more grounded not as spectacular, but still hold its own. Light bodied but still holds a firm backbone of malt flavors and feel. Light touching caramel with a good hop simple angle of orange and light grapefruit. Pithy notes of pine and citrus zest on the finish. Hits with a real nice sharp atringency too.
Good solid IPA.

Good mouthfeel, very creamy, nose is a cross between an American golden ale and a Canadian beer, none of the tropical aromatics usually associated with an American IPA. Light to medium bitterness. Nothing spectacular but not a dud either. Perhaps some more American dry hops will make this beer stand out more.
