Smooth and pleasant but complex in the way the malt mixes with the hop profile--hints of honey, pepper, biscuit, and maybe some barely-there apple. Dry enough, but with a buttery sweetness. More assertive/hoppy than I would expect or sometimes like for the style but good.

Poured from the can into a Gaffel branded stange glass.
Really dark and unique color for a kolsch. Deep orange brass and bronze like clarity, filled with a real fluffy top large white head, with thick lacing and bright white clumps and retention. Very aggressive and dark looking kolsch, really dig it's appearance.
Also enjoying that aroma. Big toast notes, flirts a little bit with white flour, and a rocky to sulfur like sense of mineral. Chewy sensing malt that is sweet, and lots of cracker and biscuit mixing bready flavors, like all parts of a good bread from sweet soft dough to crackling dry crust.
Palate makes some bold presentations. Rich malt bodied, continuing a nice dry crackery flavor and touches of light sweetness and honey sensations. It's almost a mix of light dry, and rich honey. Mid palate also gets fairly hoppy, grass like with herbal spice, and an even more so pine like sting on the finish. Slight fruit juiced hop flavors, almost tropical sensing make for a real nice character.
This is a bit hop forward and unconventional but really nice drinking. Comes out a bit bitter than a traditional kolsch and a bit more modern but still is quite tasty.

Really nice summer brew.
Good from start to finish.
Mild fruit at the start and just enough hops at the finish.
Makes me want to visit the brewery and taste their other brews.

The beer pours pale, clear gold into a tall pilsener glass. Immense white foamy head that falls to a cap and leaves graceful bands around the glass like growth rings in reverse.
Aroma...crackery and clean malt. A gentle kiss of lemon floats along, with a grassy and slightly hay-like hop note. Slight wine aroma like white grape. Simple, welcoming.
Taste...delivering a lot of flavor. Crackery and slightly sweet. Bitterness just shy of being assertive, just enough to anchor the beer. Mild grape flavor, slightly spicy, very mild lemon. Thinking it checks all the boxes for the style.
Feel is medium bodied, a nice level of carbonation, a bit of mineral twang.
Got a winner right here and I am glad to have picked up a whole six pack for a change. A full flavored and very pleasing Kolsch style beer from a brewery I am wishing was not 4-plus hours away. This is a beautiful, worthy brew.
