Royal Jelly Honey Wheat is a beer fit for a queen, but brewed for the commoner. Pure, raw, honey from Butter Bee's® apiary combine with specialty malts to produce a honey colored wheat ale that is sweet and refreshing. The slight taste of honey dissipates into the wheaty, malty, backbone of this beer. This beer will Hive you coming back for more.

Poured cold from a 12-ounce can into a glass tumbler. A very aggressive pour yielded about a finger of white head sitting atop a slightly hazy pale orange body. This has a pleasant mouthfeel, not too light, with a good malt backbone. Floral overtones on the nose and palate, with notes of tart fruit and honey. The finish is dry, with a slightly bitter (15 IBU) and pungent hop kick. This was begging to be paired with food, and Cincinnati-style chili, with its warm and aromatic spices, provided a nice complement to the floral and herbal qualities of the beer. Overall, a very good beer.

a honey wheat and a darn good one too, the first beer i have ever had from parkside, and a treat to have it on tap, smelling and tasting super springtimey and fresh. the honey is robust in here which is cool, floral in the nose and sweet in taste right in the center where the malt usually is, delicate overall but strongly honey flavored, i really like it not all being fermented out here. notes of orange blossom and elderflower and green tea in here, a relatively simple pale wheat malt base lets the honey do a lot of the lifting too. compatibly floral hops at the end too, a nice touch and something awesome missing for me in simple blonde or wheat honey beers like this. in an effort to make them have mass appeal, they are often stripped of what makes then unique, and this one doesnt fall into that trap. still insanely drinkable, a little light on the carbonation but great flavor and smoothness going down, refreshing when its cold but warms up well too. i will be on the lookout for more beer from these guys when i am in town next, this was impressive and just different enough to be memorable...
