Pale, somewhat spicy, dry strong Trappist ale with a pleasant rounded malt flavor. Aromatic with fruity, and light alcohol notes combined with a clean malt character to produce a surprisingly drinkable beer considering the high alcohol content. Generous spicy, peppery and clove-like phenols. Esters are often reminiscent of citrus fruits such as oranges, but may have a slight banana character. Balanced with distinctive spicy, floral and sometimes perfumy hop character. This beer is a marriage of spicy, fruity, and alcohol flavors supported by a soft, rounded grainy-sweet malt impression, with a slight honey note.
