From a can in Hilton Head. It tastes like the name: a Dunkel with Monk/Belgian overtones. In the same camp as Rockefort 18, but local. As it warms, it gains some more roastiness and a little hoppy bite.

Can in Charleston, SC. Good color, bready, and a good bit of sweetness. Not what I expected, and the ABV is more than what the taste would indicate. I'd definitely get it again.

Currently on vacation w/ my entire immediate family on Kiawah Island in South Carolina. Picked this up at the store yesterday. Poured out of a 12 oz. can into a goblet glass, this beer pours a medium copper color streams of little bubbles rapidly and continually rising to the beer's surface. Has a just slightly off-white head that's about an inch thick when first poured that settles quickly to a thick ring lining the inside of the glass w/ a huge cluster swirl of film layer surface foam and a thick ring of foam lining the inside of the glass at the beer's surface. Not much lacing here though. Aromas of some slightly toasted, caramel, bready malts along w/ dome dark fruit notes of plum and fig, Belgian candi sugar, and a light note of earthy hops. A very similar flavor profile, with the aforementioned lightly toasted, caramel, bready malt sweetness along w/ the plum and fig fruit flavors and a bit more sweetness from the Belgian candi sugar. Also has some yeasty esters notes that are rounded out by just a bit of earthy hops that provide some bitterness. A nice balance of the different flavors here. Has a fairly crisp, slightly creamy, also smooth, medium bodied mouthfeel with moderate carbonation. Very drinkable and fairly refreshing. Has a clean finish, and the flavors all linger nicely for the aftertaste. Not a bad beer at all.

Picked up a sixer from TW-Greenville, SC 5-7-22 for $12.99. Canned 2-9-22; consumed can for review 5-15-22.
Beer poured reddish brown with a nice off-white head.
Nose has notes of wheat bread and a light dose of dark fruits.
Taste is a heavy toasted wheat and sourdough bread baseline with a touch of plums finishing balanced but nice level of bready sweetness.
Mouthfeel is light to medium bodied and smooth.
Overall a very nice representation of the Dubbel style!

Got as a gift from dbrauneis. 12 ounce can into tulip glass, no can dating. Pours lightly hazy/cloudy copper/orange color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and fluffy off white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing on the glass, with a light amount of streaming carbonation. Awesome Belgian brown. Aromas and flavors of raisin, plum, fig, pear, apricot, red apple, caramel, brown sugar/bread/crust, biscuit, light roast, wood, herbal, grass, peppercorn, light banana/clove, and yeast earthiness. Light-medium herbal/woody/grassy bitterness and peppery yeast spiciness on the finish. Medium-high carbonation, medium body, and fairly crisp/clean finishing. Balanced bready/grainy malts and sticky hops in the mouthfeel. Lingering bitter/spicy dryness with no astringency. Minimal warming 6.2%. Spot on style with great complexity of yeast and malts, and balancing noble hops.

A: Pours a relatively clear medium to dark reddish amber in color with moderate amounts of active visible carbonation rising from the bottom of the glass and a moderate burnt orange + medium golden yellow + honey + copper + mahogany colored highlights. The beer has a three finger tall foamy tan head that reduces to a large patch of thin film covering the entire surface of the beer and a thin ring at the edges of the glass. Minimal amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Moderate to string aromas of toasted + caramel + dark malts with moderate amounts of dark fruit (plum + raisin) and candi sugar sweetness. Moderate aromas of fruity esters from the yeast and light aromas of spicy + earthy hops.
T: Upfront there are moderate to strong flavors of toasted + caramel + dark malts with moderate amounts of dark fruit (plum + raisin) and candi sugar sweetness. That is followed by a moderate flavor of Belgian yeast with moderate amounts of fruity esters. Finally there is a light amount of spicy + earthy hops which impart a light amount of bitterness which fades away fairly quickly leaving moderate lingering Belgian yeast +candies sugar malt sweetness.
M: Slightly heavier than medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Light amounts of dryness in the finish.
O: Easy to drink with well hidden alcohol and a pleasant dryness in the finish. Enjoyable but a touch sweet and that sweetness really lingers.

Look: It pours dark amber with a slightly off white head. The head is not well formed and head retention is low.
Smell: It has a sweet and sugary aroma. There are some funky notes with very low raisins.
Taste: The flavor is sugary with some dark fruits. The dark fruits are mostly raisins. It has low funk from the Belgian Yeast.
Feel: It has a medium body and finishes a bit sweet.
Overall, the flavors aren't well developed and it tends to be sweet more than a combination of flavors.
