On tap at McGillicuddy's Five Corners, Essex Junction, Vermont.
This was poured into a pint glass, and I got what was going on.
The appearance was a semi-thin dark yellow to orange color with a cap of a little white foamy head that slid off at a moderate pace. Not much lace, somewhat runny and sliding.
The aroma had some peppercorn, lemon zest, lemon juice and a light herbal to grassy sort of hoppy back end.
The flavor was semi-spicy with the peppercorn and lemon zest punching a bit more forward than the herbal and grassy character. Light aftertaste of the peppercorn and herbal to grassy hops.
The mouthfeel was about medium bodied, perhaps just a touch under with a fair sessionability about it. Carbonation felt good. ABV felt on par. Semi-smooth to pepper-like and zesty sort of finish.
Overall, this is one of Green Empire's better beers. They consider it a "session IPA" and I consider it one I'd come back to.
