On tap at McGillicuddy's, Five Corners, Essex Junction, VT.
Despite this being poured into a pint glass, I got what was going on.
The appearance was a thin hazy burnt copper to orange color with a slight transparency to it. Light carbonation strayed in and out of the body but seemed to not "sparkle" so much to rise. Just a film of a little white foamy head and that didn't leave any lace.
The aroma had a huge stiffy bitter piney hoppiness up front punching a big citrus rind-like bitterness. Subtle citrus hop tones came in underneath and then a brisk biscuit-like maltiness.
The flavor charged with the bitterness most of the way through with the citrus and the pine fully coming together. Light bitter citrusy to piney aftertaste.
The mouthfeel was almost medium bodied with a fair sessionability about it. Carbonation felt fine. ABV felt on par. Finish was extremely bitter with the piney and citrusy hoppiness.
Overall, it's a decent APA that seemed to reminisce a bit on the "old school APA's" without a cleaner malt backbone or smoother and sweet hops. Me, maybe again.
