16 ounce can.
Both cans I have show smudged date as either 3/01/22 or 8/01/22.
Moderate pour yields a one inch tan head over a black body with some lacing.
Nose of roasted malt, chocolate malt, coffee, and a bit of rye whiskey.
Taste mirrors nose somewhat, bitter chocolate and bitter coffee up front with a slight finish of the rye barrel.
Feel is just okay and below average for me.
Overall, pretty tasty and will drink my 2nd can someday soon.
Cheers!

Good but somewhat generic and undistinguished, if I’m honest. Coffee notes are pretty much gone by mid March, decent rye barrel presence but has that vaguely soda like feel some stouts can get. Not particularly fizzy but medium weight and a little syrupy. So - like a flat can of Coke? I liked it but had highly hopes.

Pours a pitch-black with minimal head. Smell is very rich coffee and chocolate. Mouthfeel is medium. Taste follows the nose, plus a wee bit sweet whiskey in the background. Not overly sweet imo. 10% abv is hidden well. I really enjoyed this stout. Will drink again.

Canned on 10/29/19.
This was poured into a snifter.
The appearance was a nice looking dark brown close to black color with a quickly toppling small wispy off white foamy head that slid off stealthily. No lace.
The aroma had a wonderful blend of sweet rye bready/dark toasty effects - I'm guessing that's because of the rye barrel. Light whiff of vanilla seems to undercut some dark chocolate and milk chocolate. Some charred coffee beans, but not too much.
The flavor leaned into some stellar bitter coffee to earthy side happenings of vanilla sweet tones. Some spicy barrel starting to come out with some warmth. Is that a lot to take? Of course, it is but hey, can I say this is exceptionally complex! You bet! Mild aftertaste of earthy coffee and cocoa nibs along with some biting dark chocolate.
The mouthfeel was about medium bodied with a stroke of some sipping ability. Good carbonation and some stickiness but acceptable. Finishes semi-earthy with some sticky cocoa powdery substance.
Overall, a very nicely done American imperial stout with some local coffee beans. I feel like I had this at just the right time another month and I believe the coffee beans would have become acidic.
