Growler from the brewery store.
This was poured into a snifter.
The appearance had a soft muddy brown pour but yielded more of a dark brown close to black color in my glass. Subtle wispy slightly tan head fell off fairly quick to leave concave lace.
The aroma opened up very nicely with smooth silky coconut woody shavings (sweet, toasty and earthy). Then milk chocolate nibs penetrate luxuriously through some almond notes, extremely well balanced.
The flavor absolutely balances wonderfully between the coconut, milk chocolate and almond. Subtle touches of dark chocolate bitterness slide in underneath. What an exceptionally amazing aftertaste of coconut, dark chocolate, dark toast, almond nuttiness and sweet milk chocolate layers.
The mouthfeel was about medium bodied with a fair sipping quality about it. Great carbonation with some stickiness but acceptable. Smooth nutty grip - quaint. Finishes with some coconut, dark toast and dark chocolate powder.
Overall, an absolutely amazing imperial stout packing all of the punches the brewer says is there.
