Hazy, dirty gold color. Moderate head that settles quickly to surface film. Broad streaks and multiple spots for lacing.

More malty than hoppy to the nose. There's some toastiness to the aroma, a bit like a a fresh-out-of-the-oven biscuit. The hop is floral and provides good balance. Faint alcohol.

A bit upside down--I notice the hop first but it's quickly followed by some berry sweetness. Lower carbonation with a slightly richer body. The bitterness returns in the swallow bringing a 50-50 balance with the malt. While the aftertaste is short, there's a pleasant blend of light maltose and peppery hop along with some alcohol warmth.

Never saw this before nor had I even heard of Green Empire, before I found this at Cable Beverage a few weeks back. Like most hopheads, I love my IPA's and even though I've had a ton from all sorts of different breweries, I still wanted to give this a go because so many good ones seem to come from Vermont and although this could have been a bit better, I did enjoy this as it didn't last for very long!

This was golden in hue and topped off with a sufficient head that offset the liquid nicely, as it wasn't terribly thick or bubbly. Not a lot of rocky lacing left as there was a ring near the top of my pint glass with two vertical streams coming down the sides of it. Dank is the word here - or should I say, green, as there was tons of dewy grass, weed, peach, onion, scallions, vegetable patch, and some raw, unpolished hops like Sabro, Mosaic, or Idaho 7. The taste was just as unkept and spicy as this felt like something out of Northern California or Colorado but indeed, this was a Vermont beer that would be perfect for a Phish or Dead concert. A hint of candied sugar and deep citrus emerged once this fully warmed up as this had a subtle slickness, decent body, and lip-smacking sticky aftertaste to it.

The amount of booze was just right as this had some heft and warming effect to it but I would have easily opened up another can had there been one here. Dated 11/10 of last year with "VERY NICE" written under it, this was nice and certainly different than similar takes on the style from Massachusetts or New York. Now that the warmer weather is here, this would be something I'd take to an outdoor concert to kick back with - even though I couldn't quite pinpoint what hops and malts were used to make this. Would have loved to gotten a fresh can of this!

From a 16 oz. can dated 05/11/21. Sampled May 28, 2021.

The appearance is not so much hazy as it is cloudy but the color is bronze and the head is cream colored.

Immediately I pick up a dankness to ti in the aroma and I also notice and spicy, herbal character along with a grainy base.

Smooth, medium mouthfeel.

The taste starts sweet and then the aforementioned herbal and spice hops kick in. Kind of peppery. It ends clean enough.

Poured into a 16 oz Snulip glass canned on 5/11/21. Pours a cloudy orange with a 2 finger sticky white head that leaves a thin wall of lace as it slowly settles. 4.25

Aroma coconut, pineapple, peach, pear, garlic, and apricot kind of odd and not bad. 4

Taste follows coconut, pineapple, peach, pear, garlic, and apricot the Sabro is a tad aggressive with this one and maybe that combo doesn’t work, but I am not a hater of that hop like some and not loving this one. 3.75

Mouthfeel is above average, soft carbonation, a tad sticky not dry, and at 8.5% it goes down easy enough. 4

Overall I would say it is worth a try, but I could not recommend for all. Very unique and I will have no problem handling the 4 pack, but again very interesting flavors. 3.75

Can dated 5 26, my second of the 4 pack. Color is a cloudy straw yellow-orange. Nose is heavy candy and tangerine with some alcohol. Taste has more pith and rind, with bitter filling in towards the end. I like the taste except a little too much danky bitter in the 2nd half. Not heavy, but just an edge. Other than that, some great flavors throughout the beer.
