Draught. Hint of pickles. Tastes skunked. Not great.

a really rustic and authentic and flavorful pils, i think this place is awesome, they are doing some really cool beers, and this easier drinking offering really hit the mark for me. its super flavorful and fluffy feeling, bready and biscuity and baked a little bit, but dry and grainy and earthy too, less european than many, to me its not just generic pils malt, something else going on here, either local ingredients, something other than pale barley, a radical water chemistry, or maybe a proper decoction mash, but this is different than many others foundationally, and i love it. the hop profile is more traditional, noble type, light grass and clean citrus, enough bitterness to add to the crispness, but this isnt the snappiest of lagers, there is somewhat of a slower finish as the full flavored yeast strain does its thing late, even more obviously as this comes up to temperature some, and i really like it, definitely wouldnt change this, and i dont think it diminishes the refreshment value or the drinkability at all. fairly flavorful from the hops too as it warms, and overall a really dynamic take on the style, big contributions from all the elements, rustic and well refined at the same time. this is a hard working brewery, as gathered from my visit here, didnt know anything about it before i rolled up, but left a huge fan. dont sleep on these guys!

This one pours a slightly hazy golden yellow color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.
This smells like lemony hops, lime zest, grassy hops, grapefruit, and citrus.
This is definitely tasty, but it also kind of feels like a pale ale masquerading around in a pilsner costume. I might have thought this was a pale ale, if I didn't know what the beer actually was. It's quite hoppy and citrusy, as expected with heavy Motueka dosing.
This is light bodied, crisp, and pretty clean, with a solid drinkability.
If you're rating this to style, it's a miss. If you're rating on purely taste and drinkability in a vacuum, it's very nice. If this was just called a hoppy lager or an IPL, it would be much more on point.

Hazy straw with lasting head and some lazy. LIght citrus floral aroma with a little fresh bread. Light crackery sweetness citrusy finish light bitterness light soft body. Far from traditional, but it's a tasty beer.

Thanks to a trade, my first opportunity to enjoy a product from Green Empire - a brewery not previously known to me. Turns out that it's one of the best Pilsners I've consumed this year. I'll be looking for this one on my next trip to VT - and I'll bring home more than just a single.

Canned 9/1/20. "Crispy Bois" on underside. Pours a bright golden hue with a nice head into my glass. Grassy malt with a slight wiff of Moteuka hops. Spicy and dough-y upfront with a flowery touch. Hard to describe but it's so light and airy and it's as if I'm drinking a cloud. Finish is full of spice. I think this is unique amongst local pilsners and I hope that I've gotten the style correct.
