a matured "Nieuw Ligt" this seems like whiskey full of cereal malts and converted sugars and packed phenols also the color brown hop? there is still bitter but whether the hop

Bought this one at Oersoep beer fest 2015. Dark caramel colour with not much head. Smells of caramel and molasses and sweet malts, and also of piney hops. The taste is quite nice, like the beer's been bourbon barrel-aged, with notes of caramel, bourbon and honey on top of a bitter hop body. A bit boozy, especially when it was cold (which was surprising for me, because, usually beers get boozy as they get warm), but has a nice warm and smooth mouthfeel.
