Shoe Horn is an unfiltered American DIPA with a blend of new school and old school hops. Balance was at the top of the list when our brewmaster was designing this beer making Shoe Horn a very drinkable DIPA without giving up any hop flavor.

16oz can. Date stamp on label is '11/1/23'.
Unfiltered, medium amber colored body. Two fingers of off white head, which slowly recedes to a fluffy cap and ring. Leaves behind wide bands and strings of lacing.
Aroma of citrus - tangerine and grapefruit, and toasted bread malts.
Taste has the flavors of orange/tangerine/grapefruit citrus, green melon, and white wine grape. Toasted malt base. Mellow aftertaste with slight bits of pine coming in.
More than medium mouthfeel, with some stickiness. Very slight tongue numbess. Higher ABV% is there but not in your face. Very good carbonation.
Generally sweet but solid in flavor expression. Three months in the can and still fresh enough.

Pours a deep full amber with an ample off white head that holds itself quite well. Beauty in a glass for sure.
Smell is sweet citrus and peach, tangerine and faintly vanilla creme. Very fruity and pleasant and extremely aromatic as soon as you open the can.
Taste has tangerine front and center, along with hints of cantaloupe, honey, orange, and golden kiwi. Very fruit forward with the malt sweetness pleasantly restrained. Very light bitterness but the tail end does have a strong lemon peel bite.
Mouthfeel is very nice as well, definitely a full bodied beer but doesn't get syrupy or 'thick' in any way.
Overall I am pleasantly surprised by this Nevada gas station find. By far the best beer I've ever had from Carson City and really one of the better double IPAs I've had recently. Definitely a big hoppy beer but is more nuanced than just a smack up side the head with a bale of hops. A very nice modern hopped american DIPA.
