a neat tropical fruited berliner, a well made base beer is the key here, this is light and clean and summery, even vacation-esque, a nice drinker, not too sour, not over fruited, solid. brassy looking from the tap, short headed but with enough carbonation, a little bit of haze thats appropriate int he style. the aroma on this is nice, lemony clean lactic souring but not overly acidic, and a fun tropical fruit profile that to me has sympathetic passion fruit tartness and maybe some pink guava and pineapple too, subtle orange, white wine, a bit of sweetness and candy character, but its unforced and very pleasant. pineapple and passion fruit and guava all in the flavor to me, although im not sure what fruits are actually in it, probably not whole fruit, but its light enough in the mix that its not artificial either, the acidity makes it seem drier than it really is, and its almost refreshing with a quicker finish, i think the souring is dialed in, really professional and not so sour that it cant be a pint beer. the fruit is there but its not too much, berliner first and a good one, i taste and feel some wheat as well, a little linger on the finish but this is summery and easy overall. ill be eager to try more shoe tree next time down in the greater reno area!
